This electronic version of the Georgian surnames has been compiled according to the works of famous historian, philologist and public figure Thevdore (Thedo) Zhordania (1854-1916): ‘The Chronicles and other materials about Georgian history and writings’, III volumes, which were published in the years 1892, v. I, 1897, v. II and 1967 v. III (the last volume edited by G. Zhordania and Sh. Khanthadze). The works are one of the richest sources for a close study of the origin and history of the Georgian surnames.
